At the time of posting this, Perridak Software has officially been in business for only 7 weeks. In that time, we commenced and released our initial open source API products (2 projects), created this website, and have at least 3 commercial products under active development, and all as a side gig while we continue to pay the bills through our day jobs. To say that the past few weeks have been a whirlwind of activity is a HUGE understatement, yet it's been an exciting and rewarding beginning. We're pleased to see people downloading our APIs already, and we hope that they and others find these resources as valuable as we find them internally.
We believe it is important to use and trust the software that we create for ourselves, before we release it to the public. "Eating our own dog food" so to speak. It was also important for us to contribute to the open source community right from the start, since it would be impossible for any start-up to actually make a start without the amazing efforts of those who have crafted the excellent resources that we use and enjoy in applying our craft. Yes, we want to actually make money creating excellent software, but we also want to make it possible for others to stand on our shoulders, as we have also stood on the shoulders of others.
We have a long road ahead of us, with some amazing ideas and plans, the desire and drive to implement them, and we are excited to see how our products might benefit our customers over time. It's an exciting time for Perridak Software, as we take these first steps in presenting ourselves to the world, and we hope that you will become a valued part of our community as we grow.
